Pondai
That night I lay silent in bed,
A life put asunder!
Trapped in the cracks
Between New and Old.
Between Western and African.
Cracked open like a gourd.
Split Brain!
Witchcraft, goblins and religion on my left.
Science, and logic on my right.
Which one to choose?
Why does death bring more knowledge of a being than life?
I told them I liked him when I was young.
They told me I was poor, young and liked everyone rich.
I am frenzy.
Epileptic!
I am having a seizure: Corpus Callosum Agenesis!
Solace only found in poems.
That was the night my half-brother died.
The night Pondai died.
